Elite Salvage Solutions - FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What will it cost:

Elite only deducts fees on vehicles sold via the service. This means that you can obtain our best price without having to commit.

Elite operates a client trust account and we will make arrangements to pay you directly within 7 working days of the vehicle being collected.

Storage and recovery charges:

You should make arrangements to settle any outstanding storage and recovery charges with the holding garage or recovery agent. If you are fully comprehensively insured you will be able to recover these from your insurer.

We can arrange for settlement by the winning bidder for storage and recovery charges for clients that have volume accounts.

Higher returns

Traditionally insurers have placed all their business on a fixed percentage of the pre-accident value. The most desirable vehicles to the salvage industry are less than 5 years old. A typical insurers book of business spans vehicles of up to 14 years old, therefore your salvage is the most desirable.

We have consistently demonstrated returns that are over 75% ahead of insurer returns for the most desirable types of vehicle.

Who are the buyers?

We operate a network of 130 salvage agents throughout the UK. All agents are fully compliant the environmental agency regulations, and each agent has an annual audit to confirm their certification, compliance and insurances.

New agents undergo a physical visit in order to check original documentation, to validate the premises are suitable and for training to be carried out on the Elite Salvage Solutions system.

What about my insurer?

Regardless of how you are insured the vehicle is always your property, and therefore you can ask the insurer for a settlement figure including, and excluding the retention of the salvage.

Most insurers or their engineers will be in receipt of an estimate for the repair of the vehicle that will include digital images, therefore if you do not have access to the images you can have these emailed to you whilst requesting a salvage value.

Upon receipt of our bid price you will be best placed to make the most advantageous decision.

What vehicles are eligible?

Any vehicle up to 5 years old, or that has a pre accident value in excess of £10,000.

Vehicles that suffer the least depreciation are often the most desirable.

Volume users

If you are a registered company and expect to dispose of 5 or more vehicles in any one month we are able to offer additional facilities, such as directly importing vehicle data and images from the major estimating systems.
